The King Is Dead Ash and rock, smoke and mud The last grain fell on bloodstained ground The king is dead, no heir is left Marauding hordes burnt our house and stole our brute without sentence Justice is what falls first in war We cannot stay here: Flee now! And make your way to our assembly point Life told me a tale about a land of strength, A king of right, a time of peace But it all collapses in these days of war A painful truth: Too few survived! And winters rage will let us starve to death The anger grows; who's the guilty one? Once again it's the bravest man who suffers greatest loss Justice left this dying land We cannot stay here: Flee now! The best defense is still a flight to the front Life told me a tale about a land of strength, A king of right, a time of peace, But it all collapses in these days of war (May the day come, when in the councils of kings and sovereigns eventual wisdom defeats their greed and cupidity And may the day come, when the swordsmen conquer their fear and let a spark of charity for the weak ones fill their hearts) But we can't wait Our need's too great Taken by the courage Born form our despair We will now face Our task Life told me a tale about a land of strength, A king of right, a time of peace, But it all collapses in these days of war – of war!

Forging the Fate 30 Days and Nights we march under a clouded sky No matter where we go war has already wasted there. We've found a group of men which hided in their ruined town It seems, we're not alone The same fate binds us now Come join our side Take our hand This is not your end Our downfall was not yet decided The surmounting of fate is an honorable trait Leave all this behind Your ground and your grief We're marching inland to the throne where the root of all evil lies I know you can't foresee, what horror lies behind the turn But don't forget my words they'll help you when the courage falls United by the fate our army grows with every day One hundred humbled men and hundreds more will come So don't fall behind Take our hand This is not your end Our downfall was not yet decided The surmounting of fate is a honorable trait Leave all this behind Your ground and your grief We're marching inland to the throne where the root of all evil lies We're not the roach under destiny’s foot We're strong and we'll fight now till the end This civil war tore this country apart But we are still forging our fate Take our hand This is not your end Our downfall was not yet decided The surmounting of fate is a honorable trait Leave all this behind Your ground and your grief We're marching inland to the throne where the root of all evil lies Shall now one of us sit down on the throne At last we’ll have taken revenge

Lay Of Solace Oh, why is everyone so quiet here? All I can hear are weary steps in the dirt The echoes of our songs have faded away We have our tongues tied in a knot let’s solve it with a song Look around! Oh, don't tell me, you can't see?! We offer such a mournful sight: Some vagrant men with hooded eyes who scuffle to whatever aim This pain must find it's end now Just like you I'm tired of marching on Day by day the same proceed Our feet hurt in these worn-out shoes The night's so cold without a roof This task demands a great deal So sing with me now break into a tune Listen up, my bards and poets Where's the lute, the nib and ink? Wield your pen and play new tunes for all men to remember Sing Along, my friends and fellows Down the hill into the dale Let them know that in the dark A gleam of hope’s still sparkling Our mirth remains unbroken A melody at heart lets it never break apart So share it with the whole world Our mirth remains unbroken A melody at heart lets it never break apart So share it with the whole wide world To sing a song never failed to spur on Hurry up, the time is right „Who pays the piper calls the tune“ Is over now 'cause we are sure: We are the ones who'll pay back! Come on, sing with me now break into this tune Listen up, my bards and poets Where's the lute, the nib and ink? Wield your pen and play new tunes for all men to remember Sing Along, my friends and fellows Down the hill into the dale Let them know that in the dark A gleam of hope’s still sparkling

Time Will Tell Will I settle down one day? Break the sword, forget my kind Build a house deep in the woods far away from here Smoke a pipe and sing A song for the lost Tellin' my story every man who is passing by No one knows the spell to foresee The path for me that lies ahead Ahead in the dark Make up your mind and you'll find the truth: We're all rusty rooks and we live for this moment Tell me why we should suffer despair? The time given to us wasn't made to cry to the moon to cry to the moon Will I march with you to war? And blow the horn till my last breath Stand my ground, raise my flag, Kill in the name of kings One day I'll be too old Can't hold the shield up high An arrow in my chest will be the last thing that I'll see No one knows the spell to foresee The path for me that lies ahead in the dark Make up your mind and you'll find the truth: We're all rusty rooks and we live for this moment Tell me why we should suffer despair? The time given to us wasn't made to cry to the moon to cry to the moon Time will tell Cry no more, find your way Time will tell

Through The Fields Through the Fields / into the shelter of high corn We must crawl / don't make a noise now! The guards watching the granary with eager eyes They are knights / perceive the royal coat of arms Be prepared / this won't be easy Keep your heads down / we'll attack them swiftly on my mark A scythe is our sword and the union's our shield We are willing to fight to let justice prevail The farmers had gone As the soldiers were born As a new hope for the land at need Sudden light / a burning arrow splits the air That's the sign / the roof's caught fire which diverts the guards' attention from our secret plan Come along! / my bravest kinsmen from afar Hunt them down / take the advantage of surprise We'll be the ones enjoying royal fare The scythe is our sword and the union's our shield We are willing to fight to let justice prevail The farmers had gone As the soldiers were born To end up our need Our dream is to live at peace from now on The line of kings has held long enough it's soaked with blood and tears For that we will fight, there is nothing to lose The countrymen of yesteryear will rise above their own destiny Through the fields / along with fire in our hearts On and on / invigorated 'cause we've passed our furnace bravely with great success Follow me / we have good fortune on our side That's our time / this is to notify that No one dares to bar the way that we will go The scythe is our sword and the union's our shield We are willing to fight to let justice prevail The farmers had gone As the soldiers were born To end up our need Our dream is to live at peace from now on The line of kings has held long enough it's soaked with blood and tears For that we will fight, there is nothing to lose The countrymen of yesteryear will rise above their own destiny See what we've become Soldiers under the sun I hardly remember my day-to-day life The labour for mere subsistence The onetime fears appear so minor They’ve been displaced by greater tasks My faith will never fall This path is made for us Towards a fateful end Our dream is to live at peace from now on The line of kings has held long enough it's soaked with blood and tears For that we will fight, there is nothing to lose The countrymen of yesteryear will rise above their own destiny

The Avengers Of Blood The hour of our time it lies behind a hill We're standing on the verge and reaching for our fate As we break into a trot the fog reveals a field, a path of fear and fright and a castle at its end Run on my mark, let the bloodlust arise Fear nor demise nor the loss of your lives honour to whom honour is due so brandish your mace with your most vicious face The gate left ajar; what a great twist of fate It seems that no rumour has reached here ahead So take this chance and take this fort The enemy’s near and apparently blank-faced Now we are falling, fallin' upon their world The avengers of blood have come to demand final justice Now for wrath Now for blood on the field For they are scum They are blind They have served the wrong side We're reaching the great wall and we run into those who call themself knights of the almighty crown They taste our steel, it's wrought with blood Revenge is a meal better served cold with hate We break our way now through chambers and floors until we arrive at the king's council hall Here they are, the consultants buried in books while the land lies in agony Now we are falling, fallin' upon their world The avengers of blood have come to demand final justice We are calling, callin' for our revenge The outlaws' army has arrived to even up the odds We enter the throne room deeply impressed by its grace It takes our breath away - incarnation of might there suddenly a raven flies into the hall Sets down on the throne and crows it's croaking call I strongly perceive: There is magic at work It tells me that no man belongs on the throne Shall this be our symbol, our banner to flaunt Shall we turn from rooks into ravens of might We are falling, fallin' upon their world The avengers of blood have come to demand final justice Now we are calling, callin' for our revenge The outlaws' army has arrived to even up the odds The avengers of blood have come to demand final justice Now we are calling, callin' for our revenge The outlaws' army has arrived to even up the odds

Victoriously 04:31
Victoriously The battle's won, the enemy's surrounded and defeated they were robbed of all their trappings They don't need them where they go Melt down the crown to a golden bar It weighs a pretty pound And then burn the banners and royal flags or keep them as doormats We've reached our aim of vengeance But still these lands are not save 'cause I see fires on the horizon seem they’re reaching out for me for help and release Now throw the bodies in the moat - let nature deal with them! And then find the cook and share your prey let serve up finest fare Let's go down to the cellar See what kings are used to swig There whatever will do nicely to toast our victory We've reached our purpose of rage But still these lands are not save 'cause I see fires on the horizon seems they're reaching out for me for help and release and I hear cries far from a distance I know I have to answer them before it's too late We bore the palm and took our vengeance We've struggled and forged our fate We dared to do what no one has dreamed of, victoriously Venture forth, the distance's calling This is not the end of the line The task we took on still stays unfulfilled, awaits our reply We bore the palm and took our vengeance We've struggled and forged our fate We dared to do what no one has dreamed of, victoriously Venture forth, This is not the end of the line The task we took on still stays unfulfilled awaiting our reply
9.
The Tempting Distance Trust in our force, We've reached what we dared We have found what we sought The power lies in our hands - use it now There're still people starving and dying in vain Our help is in great demand Their need is urging us to go on 'cause what we've gained Is nowhere near enough What’s next? I say we take the royal frigate and sail along the stream To free the needy people and find our destiny Fall prey to the temptation, All set to cross this land Now raise the raven banner And gather every man Come, follow me I'll show you this new way This new goal to aim rely on your kinsman There is no doubt: This land needs no king, needs no throne or command Their reign only harmed our people Their need is urging us to go on 'cause what we've gained Is nowhere near enough What’s Next? I say we take the royal frigate and sail along the stream To free the needy people and find our destiny Fall prey to the temptation, All set to cross this land Now raise the raven banner I count on every man Taking and raiding, invading this land from below, now to cast off the yoke facing and claiming, defying our fortune, show what we are capable of Sweep through the dales like a promising storm wrecking all trails of this monarchy The river will take us to places where we have to reverse this dire tragedy Maybe you’re right and we're foredoomed to fail But if we are to turn back the greed we'll be immortal Their need is urging us to go on 'cause what we've gained Is nowhere near enough What’s Next? I say we take the royal frigate and sail along the stream To free the needy people and find our destiny Fall prey to the temptation, All set to cross this land Now raise the raven banner We’re off to the unknown Now raise the raven banner We’re off to the unknown

Call For Revenge What sort of a tale forfeits its heroes and conceals the ending? What kind of a man loses heart and betrays his equals? I'm not of that kind I bring you hope and put trust in our task My deeds will be famed With every step I'll go down in history We've passed so many crossroads A thousand times we could have turned around But faith's been strong in those days and will be even stronger nowadays There'll be no dawn for those who stay loyal to the throne and the king of disgrace It's the end of our need, it's the birth of new hope a torch in the dark to guide this land out of misery Now answer my call for our revenge and the fall of the crown So lest we forget: Due to our heart's blood we'll enter new tales We've fended many fate-strokes A thousand times we've regained our strength But leave those days behind now and focus on our tasks nowadays There'll be no dawn for those who stay loyal to the throne and the king of disgrace It's the end of our need, it's the birth of new hope a torch in the dark to guide this land out of misery Misery I've made a promise to each and to everyone: United we stand and united we'll fall! And now is the time to keep it and you shall all stand by my side to fulfil my word We've passed so many crossroads A thousand times we could have turned around But faith's been strong in those days and will be even stronger There'll be no dawn for those who stay loyal to the throne and the king of disgrace It's the end of our need, it's the birth of new hope a torch in the dark to guide this land out of misery Misery

Back To My Land Show me the light I have not seen now for five moons A shine on the sea when the horn blow announces the storm How could I ever leave my fathers’ land? Oh, the land I grew up lays so far Show me the star of the north which is leading our way Through the night, when the black waves turn over our souls But I stay, I hold on and I remain though it seems that our gods left my side Look there! A cloudburst in the sky A heaven-sent sign of the will that our men survive Take me home through the storm back to my land Where woods embrace the lake The tune of the flute sounds through thunderous winds It's our guide homewards The treasures of men will be worthless like dust Without a sign of hope The tune of the flute sounds through mountainous waves It's our guide homewards A route back to our land Say, am I right? Is it time now to change course? To rest and to share a good ale on midsummer’s eve? Let's return! many moons have come to past Since we laid down on golden-green grass Set a sail in the wind at once A long way lies still ahead Far shores, dark rocks in the mist My land lies at hand Our journey has come to its end I will long for the time when we cross swords again But now I long for you My land, our songs and the hillside in spring My kinsmen, we're sailing home Take me home through the storm back to my land Where woods embrace the lake The tune of the flute sounds through thunderous winds It's our guide homewards A route back to our land

A House Upon The Hillside There is a house upon the hillside I used to call my home The roof fell in; the beams are rotten No sign of live within Once this was a place of joy My folks came in to stay The days were tough - the nights were long but our songs lit up the dark If I had the chance to start over I would do it all again that way Life went on and changed forever this house, its roof and beams How would this place look like today if only I had stayed? But war had knocked on this door and we answered loudly in belief that we all are gonna die; but not all of us have lived If I had the chance to start over I would do it all again that way
